May is National Arthritis Awareness Month. We work together with many of our patients to help them manage their arthritis pain. However, our patients are only a small sampling of the amount of people affected by arthritis. Arthritis Foundation President, Dr. John Klippell, states that arthritis is a debilitating disease that profoundly impacts the lives of an estimated 42 million Americans on a daily basis. With the aging of Baby Boomers, the prevalence of arthritis is expected to rise up to 40% - up to 67 million people - by the year 2030.
The Arthritis Foundation is the only national not-for-profit organization that supports more than 100 types of arthritis and related conditions. They are the largest private, not-for-profit contributor to arthritis research in the world funding more than $380 million in research grants since 1948. The Arthritis Foundation offers information and tools to help people live a better life with arthritis.

During the month of May, we will be collecting donations at the office to help raise money for the Arthritis Foundation to help fund and support cutting-edge research and scientifically proven programs designed to help people live wth arthritis.
