Spinal and Extremity Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustments balance your spine, normalize joint function, relieve stress on your muscles, ligaments, tendons and nerves and restores your body's natural ability to heal itself. Adjustments are used to remove subluxations (which are joints that are fixated, "locked up" or not moving properly) in the spine and other joints in the body that can cause abnormal biomechanical stresses, postural distortions, pain syndromes and acceleration of degenerative processes, such as arthritis, if left uncorrected.

Chiropractic adjustments are extremely safe for people of all ages from infants to seniors. To cite an example of the safety of chiropractic adjustments, newborns have been adjusted after being delivered to correct any spinal misalignments or joint dysfunction at that occur from the birthing process.

Benefits of chiropractic adjustments include
Pain relief
Correction of subluxations
Improved spinal and extremity joint biomechanics
Releasing pinched nerves
Decreasing muscle spasms
Improved flexibility and range of motion
Restoring your body's natural healing ability

ArthroStim

Our ArthroStim adjusting instrument is a great compliment, and also an alternative, to our hands-on adjusting technique here at the office. The ArthroStim utilizes a motorized rapid toggle recoil motion delivered through multiple small and shallow thrusts that acts as a "neurological assist" to maximize your adjustments.

Our brain function is incredibly complex. In terms of pain perception, research has shown that when the pain processing center of our brain is activated, the motion processing center of our brain is inhibited. Conversely, when the motion processing center of our brain is activated, the pain processing center of our brain is inhibited. Long story short, our brain's pain perception is inhibited in the presence of motion.

With the same purpose that we apply our hands-on adjustments, we use the ArthroStim to introduce motion to spinal segments and other joints in the body that have lost their normal mobility. The introduction of motion into these segments and joints activate local receptors in the nervous system to sense this motion, relay this information to the brain, which activates the brain's motion processing center and, thereby, inhibits pain processing at the neurological level as well as restoring normal range of motion and mobility in those joints and spinal segments!

The ArthroStim is also a very versatile and valuable tool in our
office that allows us to treat a wide variety of patients including

Infants and young children
Older individuals with osteoporosis
Those in acute and severe pain
Those who dislike "being cracked"

Vibracussor and HyperVolt Plus

Percussion Therapy

Using both the VibraCussor and HyperVolt Plus here at the office, percussion therapy is an exciting new treatment approach for muscle, tendon and ligament problems as well as related myofascial conditions and injuries. Percussion therapy works by delivering waves of percussive impulses into the body's tissues to promote an increase in local circulation and lymphatic flow and decrease muscle spasm, tension and inflammation. It's also extremely effective in treating restrictive joint conditions in the shoulder, hip and knee joints with minimal discomfort.

Benefits of Percussion Therapy include
Pain relief
Improved joint mobility and range of motion
Acceleration of the healing process
Reduced inflammation and muscle spasms
Improved local circulation and lymphatic flow

Foot Levelers Logo

Foot Levelers Custom Orthotics

Do you know what your feet can tell you about your spinal health? Your feet are your body's foundation. Like any foundation, it must be stable to support the weight above it. If there is a weight-bearing imbalance in your feet, your body loses its natural support system, causing an imbalance in your skeletal frame, resulting in abnormal biomechanical stresses and postural distortions. Each time your foot hits the ground when you take a step with this improper structural support, excessive forces are transferred up throughout your body resulting in potential ankle, knee, hip, lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain and headaches - even if your feet don't hurt!

Our Foot Levelers' scanning kiosk utilizes cutting-edge laser technology that allows us to check your feet for any weight-bearing imbalances. Based on your foot scan's findings, we can than order a pair of custom-made stabilizing orthotics to correct these imbalances and stabilize your body, leading to sustained, long-term improvement.

Foot Levelers is our exclusive provider of custom-made, stabilizing orthotics. They help create a stable structural foundation for your body by supporting all three arches of each of your feet, restoring your body's biomechanical balance and improving your posture, alignment and the effectiveness of your adjustments!

Normatec

Normatec Compression Therapy

We're extremely excited to offer Normatec compression therapy to our patients here at the office. With their parent company HyperIce's partnerships with the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA tour, the UFC and various US Olympic and national teams, you may have already seen these space-age looking boots on TV or online, but you may be unsure about what exactly they are, how they work or what benefits they provide.

Normatec utilizes what's called dynamic pneumatic compression to massage your legs, hips or arms. Initially feeling like a blood pressure cuff, Normatec uses compressed air to begin inflating either at your feet, hips or hands and wrist. With its sequential pulse technology it then begins inflating and deflating in zones moving upwards, mimicking the natural pump of your muscles. This helps to mobilize fluid and inflammation, relax muscles, improve localized blood flow and speed recovery time. Its technology makes Normatec an ideal therapy for both athletes and active individuals looking to decrease recovery time and also those looking to rehab from various injuries, aches and pains.

Benefits of Normatec Compression Therapy include
Pain relief
Decreased muscle and joint tightness and soreness
Decreased swelling and inflammation
Improved localized circulation
Improved lymphatic drainage
Improved joint mobility

Decompression_Back_Pain__Small_.jpg

Spinal Decompression Therapy

Decompression therapy has shown to be extremely effective in relieving pain associated with herniated or bulging discs, degenerative discs from arthritis, frequent headaches as well as neck and back pain or stiffness resulting from activities that require long periods of sitting (a desk job, working at a computer, driving, etc) or standing.

Through the use of Expanding Ellipsoidal Decompression technology, your spine is restored to its natural curvatures, allowing damaged discs to decompress and rehydrate. Restoring these spinal curvatures is essential to treatment because without them, excessive stress is shifted from the spine to your discs, muscles, ligaments and tendons, resulting in altered spinal biomechanics, which can lead to pain and accelerated degenerative processes.

When the spine is returned to its natural curvatures, it helps reduce bulging and herniated discs, relieve pressure on the spinal cord and spinal nerves as well as improve disc blood flow, nutrient exchange and waste product removal, all of which accelerate the healing process, making it an excellent adjunct to your spinal adjustments and treatment plan.

Benefits of Spinal Decompression Therapy include
Pain relief
Decompression of the spine, spinal discs and pinched nerves
Restoration of the natural spinal curvatures
Improved spinal biomechanics
Stretching tight muscles
Decreasing muscle spasms

RockTape Kinesiology Taping

RockTape is a special kind of tape known as kinesiology tape. Kinesiology tape is used by healthcare practitioners around the world to treat a wide variety of conditions and injuries and also to help improve athletic performance. When properly applied, RockTape has a microscopic lifting effect underneath the skin and between the many layers of muscle and other tissues. This allows for compressed blood and lymphatic vessels to flow more freely, resulting in increased blood flow to an injured area and also for swelling to be reduced at a faster rate.

RockTape application is based on the concept of Fascial Movement Taping, which focuses on the body's muscles moving together as a chain and maintaining mobility through the healing process, all while providing continuous support to an injured area. Think of RockTape as providing the support of an ACE bandage without the bulkiness! It's adhesive contains no latex, is hypo-allergenic and can be worn for up to five days following its application and because it's waterproof, can be worn in the shower or even while swimming!

Benefits of RockTape include
Pain relief
Reduced inflammation
Improved circulation
Reduced muscle spasms
Normalized muscle tone
Improved athletic endurance

Foot Levelers' Tri-Flex

Active Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Exercise

Active care (activities done by the patient) is a critical part of the equation to not only recovery, but also for the prevention of future and recurring injuries. Part of our treatment plans for all our patients includes an active care component to help accelerate the recovery process. Once your injuries are fully healed, these exercises are extremely beneficial in maintaining your condition and avoiding future re-injury.

Through our Tri-Flex active rehabilitation system,  we can incorporate rehabilitative exercises for the neck, lower back, mid-back and even extremities into our active care plans for our patients to help them to focus on postural correction, injury rehabilitation and core stabilization. Core stabilization has shown to be an effective, long-term solution to recurring lower back and neck pain. It produces sustained improvement by increasing your core strength, stability and coordination, which reduces your risk for future injuries or re-injury of a current condition. Core stabilization is also a tremendous tool for athletes looking to improve their performance on the field.

Benefits of active rehabilitation and therapeutic exercises include
Stretching tight muscles
Decreasing muscle spasms
Increased core strength, endurance, stability and coordination
